"I have to tell you that my 3 yr old would test bed time like no other. Nothing was working. I’m a single mom and he is in a PCIT program. His counselor suggested time out/back up room if he gets out of bed and th ... at worked for a week but it just turned into the same battle of him running around the house, me chasing him as he laughed in my face. It became a brutal game. I counted once and he got out of bed 56 times. I was losing my mind and dreading bed time every night. Would you like me to take you back into bed or would you like to get back in yourself?” After some whining and consoling he got in bed, stayed in bed and fell fast asleep. You are my SAVIOR! I am a therapist myself and I never knew talking to my child like I talk to my clients would be the answer.
